Week 10 starts the third bracket in our contest. This week we are featuring a two year old Labrador Retriever Redbone Coonhound mix named Shadow.
Shadow lives on a farm in Pennsylvania where he looks after all the other animals. He can herd them in if they get loose. Shadow looks after alpacas, goats, chickens, turkeys and ducks. He also lives with his canine brother Tank and other cats. Shadow loves and gets along with all animals.
As far as humans go, Shadow’s favorite person is his Mommy Ashlee. He loves to watch television with her and sleep with her on her bed.

Hello World. I’m Rusty! I am a Labrador/Catahoula mix and I live on a farm! My job is to protect the land, keep an eye on everything and make sure all things are running smoothly. I am only 14 weeks old but I take my job very seriously.
When it is time for my break I like to spend it with my canine buddy Rocky. We like to wrestle each other. When they get home from school, I love to greet my human brothers, Jay, 9 and Drew, 6, and play with them for a bit before getting back to work patrolling the farm.
I live for the outdoors. I just love having the freedom to run around and enjoy the fresh air! Continue reading Rusty: Week 7 Featured Pet

Some dogs have nervous, fearful, and anxious tendencies. The reason for this can be caused by a few things. If you bring a new dog into your home it’s important to be able to notice a scared dog and know how to help them cope.
How To Notice Signs of Anxiety
These traits can manifest in the form of shyness or even aggression. Anxious dogs can also become destructive. Signs of anxiety are trembling, whining, growling, panting, elimination, hypersalivation, excessive barking, and destruction.
If the dog shows signs of aggression towards strangers, children or other dogs, they should be closely monitored because they can harm someone else out of fear.
What Causes Canine Anxiety?
Some dogs have generalized anxiety which means that they’re anxious regardless of what the circumstances are. Poor socialization as a puppy or owner abuse is a common reason for why an adult dog would behave this way most of the time. Other dogs only get anxious during certain times like when traveling, boarding, during thunderstorms, trips to the vet, or grooming.
